About LONA

When Was LONA Formed?
LONA was born on February 20, 1996. More than 100 residents came to North Oaks Elementary School and decided that a more focused neighborhood association should be formed encompassing the area served by North Oaks Elementary School and those portions of Laurel Mountain Elementary School south of Spicewood Springs Road and east of Yaupon Drive.  

How Many Homes are Within LONA's Boundaries?
Approximately 2000 homes

What Are The Annual Dues?

Where is LONA Located?
LONA is located in Northwest Austin located just south of US Highway 183 and Spicewood Springs Road in Austin, Texas.

The LONA area is bounded by Jollyville Road, Oak Knoll Drive, Lost Horizon Drive, Rain Creek Parkway, Fireoak Drive, Texas Plume Road, and Spicewood Springs Road. Note that LONA covers portions of both Travis and Williamson Counties.  All residents in the North Oaks Elementary area and some residents of the Laurel Mountain Elementary area are members of LONA. 

Is LONA a Non-profit Organization?
The Laurel Oaks Neighborhood Association (LONA) is a non-profit organization comprised of home owners, schools and businesses dedicated to providing a safe and pleasant neighborhood environment to live, educate, work, and play. We welcome your support and comments.

If you live within or near the shaded map to the left, you are within the LONA association boundaries.

Where Did the Name "LONA" Come From?
The "Laurel Oaks" name was combined from the 2 elementary schools: Laurel Mountain and North Oaks.

If you live close to the boundaries listed above, you are a member of the association and all you need to do is join the Yahoo email group and get connected with your neighbors.  

Contributions to LONA
LONA is a non-profit organization and we do not charge dues. The association has many important responsibilities in representing your interests.

You can contribute by volunteering your time and energy as projects come up.

Another way to contribute is to send a check to LONA, P.O. Box 201454, Austin, Texas 78720-1454. In the memo area, write the project you would like your donation to be put towards. If nothing is written, the funds will go towards the General Fund Account.
