About Us

Laurel Oaks Neighborhood

The Laurel Oaks Neighborhood Association is one of a number of smaller neighborhood associations that grew out of the predecessor North Oaks Neighborhood Association (NONA).

The Laurel Oaks neighborhood is located in the northwest quadrant of Austin, Texas, just south of the intersection of U. S. Highway 183 and Spicewood Springs Road.

The neighborhood consists of about 2000 homes, and is bounded by Jollyville Road, Oak Knoll Drive, Lost Horizon Drive, Rain Creek Parkway, Fireoak Drive, Texas Plume Road, and Spicewood Springs Road. (Click on the maps tab above.)

Note that LONA covers portions of both Travis and Williamson Counties. Although part of the City of Austin (Travis County), LONA is served by Williamson County schools, namely the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD).

The "Laurel Oaks" name was derived by combining portions of the names of the 2 elementary schools serving our neighborhood, namely Laurel Mountain and North Oaks (as Caraway Elementary was named at the time of LONA's founding).

Our Neighbors

LONA residents are often invited to attend events put on by the Great Hills Park Organization, for which we are grateful.

Other close neighborhoods with whom we've shared interests include the
Mountain Neighborhood Association, Raintree Estates, and the Balcones Village / Spicewood HOA.

There are dozens of recognized neighborhood associations in our ZIP code area alone, not to mention others throughout the city. To find information regarding any registered organizations in our ZIP code or elsewhere in the city, please search the City of Austin's Community Registry
